Title | Letter [in French] from the Princess of Wales to Mrs. Clayton [GEO/ADD/28/115] reporting on Princess Amelia's improved health, that the Prince [of Wales, presumably] has instructed her to go this evening to press 'them' [presumably the doctors] to do what 'our freind' [sic] [presumably Dr Freind] has long advised, and commenting that 'all the world thinks her out of danger but... I don't' and on Princess Amelia's erisypelas; with transcription in French and English translation [GEO/ADD/28/016]. |
Date | n.d. [presumed to be before 1727] |
Writer | Caroline, Princess of Wales (1683-1737) |
Addressee | Clayton, Charlotte, Mrs William |
Description | The Princess of Wales thinks her daughter should be given 'a seaton [sic] & put... on the blisters', and that if this is done 'I shall think her safe & in a good way'; 'we all sing victoria but my poor heart is not sensible of it'. The Prince has demanded a consultation of the physicians; while this would give 'your freind' [sic] the opportunity to speak, the Princess fears he will not be named among them. |
