Title | Letter [in French] from the Princess of Wales to Mrs. Clayton [GEO/ADD/28/130], concerning whether Princess Anne should continue taking 'the bitter' as she has not been completely well, discussing the health of Princess Amelia, and asking Mrs Clayton to get advice from 'your freind' [sic] [presumably Dr Freind] as to the appropriate treatments for both; with transcription in French and English translation [GEO/ADD/28/004]. |
Date | n.d. [presumed to be before 1727] |
Writer | Caroline, Princess of Wales (1683-1737) |
Addressee | Clayton, Charlotte, Mrs William |
Description | Princess Anne 'has been a little out of order', although her appetite is good. Princess Amelia 'is much pull'd down by this last attack'; she still has facial convulsions, some fever, and complains of 'a burning heat upon her lungs'. The Princess of Wales wishes to leave all matters of treatment to 'your freind', and wishes she had done so 3 months ago. 'Amely & Dr Stegerthal will certainly cost me my life.' |
