George III congratulates him on what has happened in Strelitz, and reminds the Duke of his promise not to go to Hanover. The King states that he has no other house to lend him other than the one he already lives in, and cannot allow him to change garrison. He thanks him for New Year's wishes. The post scriptum adds that he will be 'very happy with whichever princess on which his choice falls'
