Collection | Diaries, essays and notes of Queen Charlotte |
Custodial History | Queen Charlotte's diaries (ref GEO/ADD/43/1-3) were transferred from the Royal Library in 1965. Earlier provenance is not known. The various notebooks (GEO/ADD/43/4-19) appear to have been in the custody of George V when Prince of Wales as a note accompanying their box records that the items were originally given to the Royal Library by the Prince of Wales in 1904. These documents were transferred to the Royal Archives in 1971. The remaining items (GEO/ADD/43/20-22) were purchased along with two other items (GEO/ADD/17/84, GEO/ADD/10/123) in 2006 |
