Custodial History | Presented as a gift to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by the Reverend John Charlesworth of Henley-on Thames, 11 May 1964. This volume was given to the Reverend Charlesworth by Mrs. Maxstead who found it amongst the possessions of a deceased aunt. Mrs. Maxstead was a direct descendant of the Reverend Thomas Scott (1747-1821), who wrote devotional and religious works. The letters written when the record was accessioned suggest that this work could have been composed by the Reverend Thomas Scott and that this was a copy he had kept for himself. However the volume is not written in his hand, and the volume is noted to have possibly been written by Doctor John Fisher. |
