DescriptionOn not writing sooner; has been at Kew for 8 days but is due to leave for Windsor: 'to a contented mind all places are alike and therefore I shall say but little upon that subject, excepting that I believe my present situation must make me a dull companion amongst so many lovers of Walking and riding'; on Lord Egremont's proposal of marriage to Lady Maria Waldegrave; on the engagement of Lord Grantham to Lady Mary Gray; 'The continuation of good accounts from America must have reached You before this, as it was unexpected it was received with still greater pleasure, this account I had accompanied with a letter from Admiral Digby acquainting Us with William having caught, and well got over the Measles'; on receiving letters from Mrs Williams and ?Husters; on Mrs Perkins; on declining 'Mrs Sinclairs offer'; illness of Lady Spencer's son; illness of the Duchess of Ancaster; to call for Turton 'in case You should think it necessary too want a Physician for the three under Your care'; concerning Elizabeth; on Sophia ('How happy should I bee to make dear Sophia a Visit in her Bathing machine and how surprized would You be to find me in it'); on not writing to Edward; is to write to Miss Hamilton; on having seen Mrs Feilding; 'I am absolutely ashamed of the length of my letter and in order to make amends for the incorrect ill wrote stuff You are to read, I will desire You to Kiss little dear Octavius'. Written 'K' in pencil in top left hand corner and '181' in pencil in top right hand corner
