TitleDescription of an entertainment given at Kew by Lady Charlotte Finch on 26 September 1769 just before she went abroad

DescriptionDocument describes Lady Charlotte's apartment fitted with little pavilions similar to the previous year. The Elder Princes' pavilions decorated as military encampments complete with canons, drums, etc. and they were dressed in white satin, Prince William in harlequin dress, and the Princess Royal in 'Dress of Columbine'. Prince Edward was dressed as Bacchus in a pavilion with a gold cup and a bunch of grapes, Princess Augusta was in the character of Zephyr, the Princess Royal in a pavilion decorated like an illuminated temple. The eldest princes performed a dance taught them by their master Denoyer. Prince William performed a Harlequin dance, Prince Edward presented grapes to the queen, the four eldest children did a country dance, and George III danced a minuet with Lady Pomfret
