Title | Letter from Sir William Knighton to [?Frederick Dawes Danvers] regarding George IV's china |
Date | 19 December 1830 |
Writer | Knighton, William, Sir, 1st Baronet |
Addressee | [?Danvers, Frederick Dawes] |
Description | Knighton directs the addressee to visit R. Owen regarding an unanswered enquiry relating to Lord Strathavon's wish to purchase china previously ordered by George IV. It states that if Strathavon did not purchase the china it would have to be paid for by William IV's private [privy] purse, which Knighton thought unfair as the King had 'no wish or desire to possess' it. Knighton also requested that Thomas Marrable contact the maker of the china. [With enclosure GEO/MAIN/32768.] |
