Description
William mentions his poor health and begs the King to view his 'unparrelled' position with goodness and forgiveness. He requests that as [Henry] Duke of Cumberland and himself are the sole members of the Royal Family who did not notify parliament [of their marriages], and as the Royal Marriages Act will prevent this from happening again, that their acts be excused as they are being 'punished for an act which the laws of God have not made, & the laws of the land had not made criminal'.
