WriterClarence and St Andrews, William, Duke of
AddresseeDaniell, J.W.; Steward to the Duke of Clarence
DescriptionAcknowledging the receipt of Daniell's letter and its enclosures: he approves of the gardener's choice of seeds for the following season - he gives some suggestions about where to start with the garden works, but mostly leaves Daniell to take decisions. Because of his interest in breeding, however, William suggests that consideration should be given to the Colts.
He is happy about Daniell talking about William's business with Barton [John, Sir] and Wilks. He wants the wine cellar to be put in order - he gives his opinion on a few wines and how long they can be kept. He looks forward to hearing from Barton and Wilks about a commission carried out the day before.
