DescriptionReport on the Court Martial proceedings relating to Lieutenant John James Gordon, of the 9th Regiment of Foot, who has been found guilty of 'behaving in a manner unbecoming an officer and a gentleman' (after a drunken quarrel). Observations on the judgement and sentencing, with reference to a recommendation for mercy from the Court Martial, a recommendation from Lord Ligonier that he be permitted to sell his Commission and the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland's opinion that he should not bear a Commission. George III's opinion requested.
