DescriptionMajendie promises to report on Prince William's character and education as he is being entrusted into Admiral Hood's care. He discusses the organisation of his education, the Prince's decision of his profession and his entry into the Navy. Majendie describes the reception and life on board, Prince William's character on board, his small flaws, his discouragement of bad connections, his aversion to flattery, and gives recommendations for caring for him. He notes that it is Hood's duty to correspond with George III concerning Prince William, that the Prince should be trained to deal with petitioners, and that Hood must censor letters to and from the Prince.
