DescriptionWilliam informs his brother that the man he met in Genoa [Charles Edward Stuart] had not yet arrived from Bologna, where he had intended to wed the Countess Stolberg [Princess Louise Maximilienne Caroline Emmanuele of Stolberg-Gedern], and adds that the Countess was a chanoinesse [canoness] of Mons and that her sister [Carolina Augusta, Princess of Stolberg-Gedern] was married to the [4th] D[uke] of Berwick [a Jacobite].
He also mentions that he will travel to Florence, to see the Grand Duke [?of Tuscany], and then onto Leghorn and Nice, but notes that his doctors have advised he should not travel quickly.
