TitleLetter from the Duke of Clarence, on various matters
Date6 July 1811
WriterClarence and St Andrews, William, Duke of
DescriptionThe Duke asks for help in answering a letter he received from Lord Keith [George Elphinstone, 1st Viscount Keith] - here enclosed.
Dalrymple is soon to be promoted Governor to a West Indies Island by the Prince Regent - even if the Duke disapproves of his recent behaviour.
He mentions the case of Mrs [Catherine] Tildesley [in need of a pension] and asks for her case to be presented to the board of the Treasury - since Mrs Tildesley seems to know someone there, as the enclosed letter testifies [GEO/MAIN/44988].
