Date12 December 1837
WriterFlinn, Edwardina, Mrs
AddresseeBaker, Thomas
DescriptionThanking Mr Baker for devoting attention to her case, she prompts him to submit this and the supporting documents to Sir Herbert Taylor.
Mrs Flinn tells about how, for a few years, she was taught to believe she was the daughter of Edward, Duke of Kent, but then she discovered herself to be the daughter of Queen Caroline [Caroline Amelia Elizabeth of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel], and the Duke of Kent was her Godfather. She, then, goes on to report on the unfortunate vicissitudes of her later life until she received the information about her parents from Lady Anne Hamilton. She wants now to make an application for patronage and for her status to be recognized.
