DescriptionReporting that the Duke of Wellington is very much better today and that he hopes Wellington will be so far recovered tomorrow as to be able to pay his respects to the king at Windsor. Recounting that the duke has been suffering from a fever which 'did not yield even to repeated bleedings'. As per the king's commands, he will impress upon the duke the importance of 'bestowing constant and unremitting attention to the state of his health'. In his opinion the duke only requires care and attention as there is 'no organic disease' and he expects the duke to make a full recovery.

With postscripts that the duke is much recovered and is anxious to pay his duty to the king today at Windsor but that the doctor has entreated him to put off the visit until tomorrow as the sun is very hot. The doctor is anxious to see how the duke 'bears a weak infusion of Bark which has been prescriped as a mild general Tonic' and he explains that the duke has frequently suffered from bouts of fever following symptoms of inflammation and recounting the course of the duke's illness.
