Title
Letter from Queen Charlotte to Prince William regarding William's behaviour
Date
undated
Writer
Charlotte, Queen Consort
Addressee
William, Prince (1765-1837)
Description
Referring to William's last letters, Queen Charlotte condemns William's childish volatility in judging the people and his stubborn refusal to follow the advice of wiser men. She points out to him that the fact of being born Prince is not enough to make of him a worthy man if a suitable behaviour does not follow. She encourages him to refuse bad companies and to act rightly, to stop making promises and let himself be guided by Major General [Jacob] de Budé.
