Title
Letter from George III to Prince William
Date
28 June 1780
Writer
George III, King
Addressee
William, Prince (1765-1837)
Description
The King is glad to know that William's conduct is approved by the Admiral and that he is pursuing his studies well.
He hopes William will send soon an account of the ships that compose the Fleet.
George III signs himself as 'your most affectionate Brother', rather than 'Father'; this must have been a slip of the pen as this letter cannot have been written by William's brother, George Prince of Wales - as the handwriting, signature, and content testify.
