William is glad to understand that the jail at Naas is to be enlarged and the Spring Assizes will still take place in there.
He is very sad about the West Indies, and thinks that Tom Smith should be so as well. The situation in Ireland seems to be better.
They had a good hay harvest and hope the same will be for corn.
