Description | Lord Suffolk summarises George III's Memorandum which outlines new arrangements for American affairs. In future the Commander in Chief, the Governors and the Admirals (or Commanders) of the fleets in America, should correspond on all matters of a political nature (including all military arrangements in time of war) with the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs for the Southern Department, rather than the Secretary of State for the American Department (currently vacant). |
