Collection | George IV Calendar as Prince, Regent and King |
Description | Relating to George III's 'Indisposition', the Prince states that the matter to be discussed is of high importance not only to himself, 'but to the King, his Family & monarchy alltogether'. In the hope of not distressing Lord Thurlow, the Prince will not attend 'tonight's Bill', and sends his 'particular Friend and Secretary' Tyrwhitt, who is authorised to discuss the 'circumstances of the late negotiations with administration respecting my affairs' which he has previously not disclosed to Lord Thurlow out of a sense of 'delicacy'. Written at 3/4 past 7 pm. Copy. Signed. |
