Date

George, Prince of Wales (1762-1830)
Addressee
Charlotte, Queen Consort to George III
Description
The Prince requests the Queen examine the papers he encloses before giving an answer to Parliament's request that the King's Household be placed under her authority. He argues that this act would 'disjoin from the difficult & arduous office which I am call'd upon to fill, the accustom'd & necessary support & dignity wh. have hitherto belong'd to it'. He affirms his wish to protect 'the just rights, prerogatives, & dignity of the Crown' and suggests that the King will support the Prince's actions.
