[c. January 1789]

[?Burke, Edmund]
Description
[?Burke] argues that regal power is an integral part of the British Constitution, and therefore 'a Parliament without a regal power to regulate and moderate it is equally as dangerous as a regal power without Parliament'. The discussion of 'right' [to determine the Regency] is seen to show Parliament's ambition and disregard for the 'rights of the people'.
