Description | The Prince describes the dangers of a civil war in Ireland, and French attempts to reach Ireland. He refers to Belfast as the centre of Irish disatisfaction, and to the strength of the United Irishmen. He states that the Irish Catholics 'are naturally Loyal, & attached to Monarchy', and that if restrictive measures are repealed, he would wish to undertake the government of Ireland.
