| Description | Dundas describes the King's conversation while being read the newspaper by Dr Heberden. The King was read a passage about the [?music] meeting at Gloucester, under the patronage of the Duke of Beaufort and Lord Rivers. Dundas refers to the King's comments regarding the Duke of Beaufort giving him the command of two batallions of Gloucester militia; purchasing Dudley Castle from Lord Rivers; and Mr Sadler's balloon.He then describes an accident at sea in which George, Prince of Wales, Lord Moira, Lord Grenville, Lord Stafford and Lord Grey had died. The King expresses fear at the Duke of York being 'as bad as any of them', having resigned being Commander in Chief, and going 'down to Oatlands to live with that B of a W'. The King then refers to the Duke of Clarence's good behaviour, and his and the Duke of Cumberland's journey to Botany Bay, having 'sent a ship before them, to carry away all the bad ones to America'. Dundas also refers to the King's comments about a knocking sound upstairs, which is 'all that angel Lady P's doing', who was thought to be hanging pictures. Dundas also refers to the King's comments regarding Lady Caroline. Dundas states that this account was stated by him after dinner to Dr Baillie and Dr Willis, in the presence of Dr Heberden.
