WriterWilliam Henry, Duke of Gloucester and Edinburgh (1743-1805)
DescriptionThe will states that William had initially wanted his body to be interred in a vault at St George's Chapel, Windsor, but at the time of writing felt that he should simply be placed where thought fit. The Duke bequeathed [Maria] Duchess [of Gloucester] her own property, including jewels, but declares that he could not make provision for her or his children, Prince William Frederick and Princess Sophia Matilda, who were named as his executors.
