DescriptionWilliam informs George III that he had been unable to inspect Prince Charles [?of Hesse-Kassel's] troops and, as requested by Queen [Charlotte], reports upon the Prince's wife [Princess Louise], who was 'by no means pretty' but of 'good nature' and 'impossible not to like'. He also writes that he received a visit from [Charles William Ferdinand] Prince of Brunswick, who delivered a letter from his sister [Augusta, Hereditary Duchess of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel] inviting him to dine en route to Zelle, which he planned to do at Autoinet on his way to Harbourg [Hamburg].
William includes mention of seeing the Queen's Light Dragoons; Wagenheim's regiment; and [Wilhelmina] Princess of Orange.
