Description
The Duke is glad to hear that Jack Paine has a frigate. The HMS Valiant does not advance very quickly; provisions, though, have arrived and they are now waiting to know if they can be dismissed or will need to be deployed at war. The Duke gets news of the fun events in London, while in Plymouth there is not much to do and no decent women. He sends his love to Mrs [Maria Anne] Fitzherbert.
