Collection | Correspondence of William IV |
Description | Following the Prince's request, the Duke wrote to Lord St Vincent about Lord Northesk [St Vincent's answer enclosed GEO/MAIN/44926]. He also wrote to Lord Dundas at Colchester and Adam in Scotland. He then mentioned a letter wrote to Lord Keith [George Elphinstone]to make Lord Elphinstone [John, 12th] vote for Lauderdale [James Maitland, 8th Earl of Lauderdale] [this vote was for the by-election for a Scottish Representative Peer]. He has nothing to report from Weymouth that is not already in the news; he referes, however, to the intention of the King [?] to give a fete on board of the Royal Yacht and to call two famous performers, Elliston [Robert William] and Miss de Camp, to act. The Duke is waiting for the Duke of Sussex to visit the Prince in Brighton. |
