| Description | The Duke of Clarence is soon to leave Brussels with the Duke of Saxe-Weimar [Charles Augustus, Duke of Saxe-Weimar and Saxe-Eisenach] and the Saxon troops, heading towards France. This decision has been taken upon receipt of a letter from Wintzingerode [Ferdinand, Freiherr] confirming the problems of the Prussian Army [defeated by Napoleon four times in the Six-Days campaign] under the command of Blücher [Gebhard Leberecht von Blücher, Fürst von Wahlstatt].
The Duke is satisfied with the outcome of his expedition [to Holland] since he could see all the Russian and Prussian Generals, the troops of General Bulow, and the three Regiments of Grenadiers; he is also very grateful to the Duke of Saxe-Weimar for his generous hospitality for which he deserves a nice present; this could be a 'fine staut Stone Horse' that the Duke of Clarence is suggesting the Prince Regent should send over.
He is looking forward to reach the Great Head Quarters and being acquainted with the Emperor Alexander [I]. |
