Collection | Correspondence of William IV |
Description | As he is preparing to go back to England following the Prince Regent's commands, the Duke looks back at what he achieved during his time abroad; he has seen all of Holland and most of Flanders; he has closely observed the Prussians and Saxon Troops - which he admires greatly;and he spent a week with the Prince of Orange (William II) and his family. He has, therefore, accomplished his mission and he counts on being back to London by the tenth of March. He reports more on the other Prussian Regiments seen in Tournay and about his last days between Brussels, Tournay and Ath - most notably, the fact that he met Prince Paul of Württemberg - a handsome but violent man. |
