Expressing gratitude for the King's acknowledgments of Lord Hill's service and confirming his willingess to keep on serving in the Army as Commander-in-Chief [withdrawing his resignations]. Lord Hill explains how his unintentional misinterpretation of Lord Grey and Lord Herbert's letters led him to believe that his service was not required anymore. He also stresses his willingness to collaborate with the Government and the King. He declares himself not interested in the business of appointments of Officers to Governments abroad, but would just like to be informed.
