The king is pleased at how well Conyngham's letters have been received by each of the recipients which Conyngham will perceive by the answers. For his part, the king will say nothing as Conyngham is already well acquainted with his feelings toward him. Everyone has behaved 'most affectionately to you, upon the occasion [of his engagement to Lady Jane Paget], & Mount Charles, in truth, is, the very warmest & best of Brothers & of Friends.' The king feels sure that Conyngham is set on the 'route de l'honneur' from which he will never deviate.

With postscript: 'I hope you have not been making des ?Pissors of every one of Us, this Day,' and asking Conyngham to relay to Sir William [Knighton] that he shall hear from the king tomorrow or Saturday morning at the very latest. |
