| Description | In her first letter, Hamilton writes of 'a great deal of Bon ton' at the assembly of Lady Spencer, and that the 'Duchess of Devonshire was in great Beauty'. She writes that she talked with Lady Claremont, Lady Hertford, Miss Thyone and Lady Spencer.
On the reverse, Hamilton writes a copy of a letter sent Sunday morning on the 5 December 1779, which includes a drawing of holly.
