Thanking the Duke of Clarence for his help and for his invitation: Louis Philippe would be very happy to spend some time with him; he is travelling only with Lieutenant General Gordon, de l'Etat Major of Lord William [Henry Cavendish-] Bentinck whom the Duke of Orleans will soon send to Sicily.
He makes his excuses for attending the Duke in plain clothes.
