Description
In answer to Lord Mayo's letter of the day before, William reasssures him that he will keep an eye on Lord Henry.
Having spoken to the Lieutenant, William is confident Lord Mayo will be given the Regiment. William received a letter from Admiral Griffith [Edward] in Halifax mentioning the appointment of a new commander; Lord Hood should prompt Sir Thomas to contact Lord Melville [Robert Dundas, 2nd Viscount Melville].
About the Queen [Caroline Amelia Elizabeth of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel] he reports that she is 'endeavouring to do all the harm she can'
