William announces that he employed Commander [Charles] Crole. William rejoices and believes Lord Mayo is happy as well for the recent success of Sir Edward Codrington at Navarino [the naval Battle of Navarino was fought on 20 October 1827]. He hopes the grandchildren are well; George and Mrs FitzClarence will return to Portsmouth; next summer he will hopefully see Princess Augusta on her return or way to Lord Arran [Arthur Saunders Gore, 3rd Earl of Arran?].
