Description
William is writing in reply to Lady Mayo's letter sent to William's daughter Mely [Amelia Cary, Viscountess Falkland]. Reporting that the Duchess is recovering but she is still confined indoors. The weather is, anyway quite adverse and causing many illnesses. He is sorry to hear that the Earl [Mayo] is unwell; he hopes they [Lord and Lady Mayo and Mrs Susan Smith] will soon be able to come to town.
He asked to be remembered to the Earl [Arthur Saunders Gore, 3rd Earl of Arran] and Duchess [Mary Tyrell] of Arran. He is glad about the good marriage of Miss Wilkinson. He gives an account of George FitzClarence and his wife's wellbeing, and of other acquaintances.
