DescriptionExpressing her happiness at the news that Ernest recovered from the measles. She updates Ernest on the whereabouts of their siblings: William [Prince] sailed in Barrington Fleet and he is very happy to be at sea; Edward [Prince} is now commander of the Queen's Regiment of Infantry in Gibraltar, and his own Regiment of the Fusiliers will be there soon; their two elder brothers will soon be in Brighton.
She reports the death of Lord Heathfield [George Augustus Eliott, 1st Baron Heathfield]; Augusta is saddened by newpaper articles mocking Heathfield and insulting his memory, forgetting how much he did for the country [some newspaper cuttings are glued on the back of this letter as evidence].
