| Description | Augusta is recovering but Sir Henry Halford suggested her to go and take the air at Brighton - so that she will not be able to stay with the Arrans at Bognor, and she is very sorry for that.
William [Duke of Clarence] visited her: Augusta is happy about William being approved by the Navy and believes him to be fully devoted to his profession. Augusta has been feeling better enough to take up music again and when William stayed for dinner, Augusta played her favourite Irish songs and other tunes to delight him. Sophia is recovering from a bad fever.
She hopes she will be able to see the King who is coming for the Recorder's report ("a necessary Evil") and a Chapter of the Order of the Bath.
Augusta reports good news about the eyesight of the Duke of Cumberland [Ernest Augustus, King of Hanover] who is now able to read. |
