Description'Emett' had previously done the operation for the youngest Princesses.
Princess Amelia appeared to be starting a fever, and complained of headache and back pain: 'these animals have propos'd a flannel shift to make her sweat upon which I dismissd [sic] them'. The Princess of Wales asks Mrs Clayton to inform 'your freind' [sic] [presumably Dr Freind] of her daughter's condition: 'I don't find her in immediate danger but I am very much afraid of the consequence'.
NotesThe original letter is GEO/ADD/28/116. The French transcription and English translation are on two halves of GEO/ADD/28/018. Both documents bear the circled number '45', which shows the order in which the original letter was bound.
