NotesThe original letter is GEO/ADD/28/126. The English/French transcription and English translation are on two halves of GEO/ADD/28/035. Both documents bear the circled number '55', which shows the order in which the original letter was bound.
On the original letter someone has noted 'writ when queen [sic]'.
Under the English/French transcription, Mrs Clayton has noted: 'the originall [sic] was writ halfe [sic] in inglish [sic], this is exsactly [sic] spelt & copied after it'.
Mrs Clayton has added postscripts to the English translation, regarding the style referred to as 'meaning Sr R. Walpole's stile [sic]', and adding by Caroline's name 'since She was Queen'.
