Title | Letter from the Duke of Clarence to J.W. Daniell, written in Ems |
Date | 15 June 1826 |
Writer | Clarence and St Andrews, William, Duke of |
Addressee | Daniell, J.W. |
Description | William acknowledges the receipt of Daniell's letters; he returns, signed the proper papers. He hopes there has been enough rain in England to ensure a good crop, and that Augustus arrived at Bushy. He heard that George [FitzClarence] and Lord Egremont [George O'Brien Wyndham, 3rd Earl of Egremont; George's father-in-law] opened the Ascot races; he hopes George will now behave better with Lord Egremont. William had difficulties in breathing, but he's now better. He suggests Daniell sends all future letters to Alterstein, near Isenach. The Duchess [Adelaide] and Mary have greatly benefited from the waters at Ems. |
