Title | Letter from the Duke of Clarence to Samuel Hawker |
Date | 4 February 1807 |
Writer | Clarence and St Andrews, William, Duke of |
Addressee | Hawker, Samuel, Lieutenant General |
Description | William thanks Hawker for the game sent. He expresses his dislike of the current European political situation and worries that it might delay their next meeting. He reports about his children: they had all whooping cough; George [FitzClarence] has just returned to Marlowe [R.M. College at Great Marlow]. William is well but heard that Hawker, on the other hand, almost got killed. Lord Paget [Field Marshal Henry William Paget, 1st Marquess of Anglesey] rather than the 'Fifteenth' [15th Regiment of Foot?] comes on the King's duty. |
