Title | Letter from the Duke of Clarence to J.W. Daniell, written in Walmer |
Date | 25 June 1822 |
Writer | Clarence and St Andrews, William, Duke of |
Addressee | Daniell, J.W. |
Description | William gives orders or expresses his opinion on a series of events recently occurred: he does not object to Slade to stay at Hampton Court; he is sure Princess Augusta or the Duchess of Gloucester will give enough notice before the arrival of the Prince [Christian VIII] and Princess of Denmark [Princess Caroline Amalie of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Augustenburg] to whom Daniell will show the House and Park. [Sir John] Barton will soon join William and then give instructions to Daniell on where to send his letters - William, his daughters and Adelaide, will be leaving soon for the continent and they will not be back before the end of September; Bushy House should be ready for receiving them then. William is recovering and Adelaide will certainly feel better in her native environment. |
