DescriptionThe Prince writes in response to a letter from George III of 14 November, to report that most of the provinces have agreed to the release of the Scottish regiments in Dutch service to serve with the British army during the American rebellion, provided that they are not sent out of Europe, and he is confident that the States General will authorize their release if George III will give an assurance that they will be able to recruit in Scotland once they return to the Dutch service, and that during their absence they will be replaced by an equal number of men from George III's Hanoverian troops or his other forces.
