| Description | The Prince forwards letters he has received from Weimar and telling her that he has been summoned to Potsdam by the King of Prussia; with letter from Augusta, Hereditary Princess of Brunswick, to George III on the reverse sending him her husband's letter as a demonstration of how cold the relations between them are, and seeking his advice.[The enclosures are not present.] The Prince writes that the letters are from M. de Stein, the Duke of Saxe-Meiningen and Baron Turckheim; he wishes to decline what is proposed [a match for their daughter Augusta] and to find out whether there is any prospect of the younger son of the King of Sweden as a match for Augusta.
The Princess's letter comments that the Duke of Saxe-Meiningen has been treated badly, and reports on her husband's plans to obtain the command of the Russian and Prussian armies, to provide for their children, and to leave her penniless.
