Description	Copy of a speech to the Committee of the House of Lords on behalf of his wife and children. Berkeley says that he will not reveal his reasons for concealing his first marriage. Berkeley justifies going through with his second as he claims he believed his first marriage to have been void. He discusses the concealment of the marriage and the register, and the marriage's discovery (the register having been destroyed). He gives the legitimacy of his children as a reason for wishing to marry again
