Endorsed in a different hand 'Sir Henry Cosby being in command of a considerable detachment of the Madras army at the time he rec'd the foregoing letter, immediately appointed Lt Walker mention'd therein, as patronised by her Majesty, upon his Staff, and is the present Majr Genl Sir George Walker'.
