Description | The Address requests the Prince to accept the Regency of Ireland 'to exercise & administer according to the laws & Constitution of this Kingdom all regal powers, jurisdictions & prerogatives to the Crown & Government thereof belonging'. It states that as the Lord Lieutenant [the Marquess of Buckingham] declined the request of the Irish Parliament to transmit this message, they nominated the Duke of Leinster, Lord Charlemont, Mr Thomas Conolly, Mr William Ponsonby, Mr John O'Neil, and Mr James Stewart, as messengers. Includes a list of those who 'declared their determination to sacrifice their offices rather than continue to support the Admn of Mr Pitt & the Marqs of Buckingham' as the Earl of Shannon, Mr William Ponsonby, Mr Lodge Morres, Mr George Ponsonby.
